I think some of the better players even have these things by Day 2 through some serious micromanagement. It's a grueling experience and often involves as many no-lifers as you can find playing 24/7 until operations are secured. That's not what you're after though. You don't want to feel pressured like that because no one does, it's miserable. Hrm, it's difficult to encapsulate the early game experience in words even after you've lived through it a few times. Definitely something to chew on for a bit because it is a rich feeling to capture.
Actually, I do want that. If there were a new world I'd pick a few specific goals and carry them out to the best of my ability attempting to perfect them, such as rushing to get crops and animals or find a high q clay node or mussel node, or even rushing criminal acts and combat to rampage the countryside while others rush to take other paths. Of course if I do the best possible I will have dominated a certain competition, that doesn't mean I have to dominate all competition. I can always use my secured path to trade and get the things I lack. Also, for the summer I have no life so I could see myself having a ton of fun if there were a world reset.

EDIT: And of course people with more numbers will have an advantage over me, that's an inevitable part of the game. I've got a few friends ready to start Hafen with me, but I'm sure some village group will have plenty more members than us. That doesn't mean we cant focus a particular goal and try to perfect it and secure our place in the competition.
