Yeah! Fantasy doesn't have to be like Twilight or WoW. :)

Croatian fairy tales, for a bit of South Slavic lore. Shame they "translated" proper names, like Potjeh to Quest :(

Haven sticks out cause it got less of the over bloated magic crap in it, just enough to make things slightly interesting. Ware wolfs and vampires just sounds as backward as adding space ships. Hopefully we won't see any dragons either.

For sure, the name is Germanic, at least.

On the language barrier; What about an emoticon system similar to King Arthur's Gold? Where a speech bubble appears and instead of text an object is present, such as a smiling face, a sword, heart, etc. Could also be used to taunt players or laugh at their demise.

Gaelic 'vampires' were really, really, really different from the 'standard' Eastern European kind... but not as much as medieval vampires in general were different from the 'classical' version from the 19th century, which is even more different from the 21st century sparkling holographic edition. It's fascinating if you're really into that sort of thing, which I'm not, so I'm just going to make vague gestures and let someone else do the research.

I dunno about werewolves.

The funniest vampire was the one who only sucked blood through your feet. It was outwitted by a pair of travellers who used each others' feet as pillows.

"This man has two heads!" cried the vampire. ¦]
