Since there are no real caps, the time you spent playing automatically correlates to the success of your character. There's many people who want to start playing, but are waiting for a wipe so they can actually compete. Even more people are just plainly turned off by all the deforested land and abandoned buildings scatted around due to the world's age. Until there's somewhat of a cap system and an automated process to bring back isolated forests, H&H will continue to grow too slowly to be considered anything other than a hobby for two college kids simply because it doesn't welcome new players at all.

So true...

im calling crap on this, i started playing 2 days ago, and despite everything you said, plus crashes, plus lag, i love this game, it is a real breath of fresh air to most gamers, anyone who is turned away from this, it is because they lack the patiance to actuly play long enough to get anything done.

EDIT: or you can look at the other side, if the server is reset to much, people wont want to do anything, cause they know that in a while it will all just get reset.

This is true.

not the edited part.

SO not true. This isn't MEANT to be anything other than a project and the players aren't players. They're playtesters. If you want to play a balanced, finished game, look elsewere.

This is really untrue because you can start anywhere you want and villages are just being created. When a new player makes a character, it is very unlikely they'll spawn somewhere where there's no trees cut down or no random objects from LP farmers. Most new people don't know you have to travel out to far areas to be somewhat isolated. If I didn't know this, I would have quit a long time ago. Also, A.D. was formed 3 months ago, but I'm talking about characters. Villages can pop up over night, but you can't get a character to 500 in a skill just like that. My point is new characters will never be anywhere near the skill levels of those who began playing seriously the day the world started.

And what exactly is the problem with that? since when this stopped being a sandbox game and became a competitive one?

It would also help should the statues and banners deconstruct without an explosion effect, so you can pick the resources (else they might end up in a cliff, wall or a house).

And how is to be successfull in this game? what do u need? A lot of good luck to find good resources, mine and a lot of knowledge about glitches to make yourself life easier in H&H. Experienced players can make big village in a month if u have everything at hand.

im sure if everybody (or alot of people) pitched in and sent the devs enough to live off of and work on the game more instead of pursue other interests then they would work on the game. get a real server that doesnt crash and everybody would be happy. but i doubt we are going to be able to send them that kind of money unless a few millionaires login and send them the cash they need. so lets stop bickering and get along and trust that the devs know what they are doing and will release information as they see fit.

You're supposed to be able to do anything in a sandbox, but when there's always going to be these god-like players who can one shot you in the snap of a finger and destroy everything you have in a few minutes and there's nothing you can do about it, that's not my idea of a sandbox
