Please don't do a cash shop. Or if you do, at least make it so a rich person can't make himself near-invincible or something.

Like stated before, nothing wrong with a cash shop if the buyable stuff is purely cosmetic.
Anyway, I'd rather pay than see a cash shop at all :p

It'll start off with cosmetic items only, I presume, but surely the publishers will get the bright idea to make even more money by selling Salem's equivalent of q9001 thanes.

I hope they find a suitable pay mode for Salem... I think the classic one is the best in this case: "pay for a copy of that game -> play".

Other possible modes that I'm thinking:

- monthly fee: not compatible with permadeath
- cosmetic item shop: it's ok
- uber item shop: no please!
- pay for resurrect: hmm... I don't like it, griefers and pk's would ruin the game

Anyway, congrats to J&L, I hope your talent continues to bear fruit.

Since it's Paradox sponsored, I believe Paradox makes the decisions sabinati.

I have read them, which is precisely why I can't believe they opted for f2p. Monthly subscription or one-off purchase would make a lot more sense.

And developers are not really in a position to allow or disallow publishers to do something. If a developer doesn't want to play ball, the publisher will just find a different one.
