My purpose isn't to "fool" anyone least of all Haven veterens who are used to my posting style.

I don't recall anyone explicitly saying it was your purpose. If I recall correctly, it was one of several things that were mentioned, and to me, the least worthy of discussion.

My reason for retiring my old name and using this one is that it had gotten to the point that I couldn't post a fucking thing without some leg riding noob throwing his 2 cents in because I'm someone with a somewhat known "name" in this game.

And there's a reason for that. It's the combative attitude that comes across, at least to me. Unless you change some things, you'll end up back in the same situation. (It may be that same attitude that increases the likelihood that one person gets banned for a post and another won't, even if they're exactly the same.)

Oh, it's not that. We're all big boys here. If I were to guess (from reading the post, the rules, and the reason for the ban), it wasn't that he answered, he effectively posted "UMAD" in the one thread on this forum that is strictly for reasoned and reasonable discussion.
