Nah, I was just taking a backup. I've heard it's good to do that from time to time. :)

Backups good. Which reminds me, I need to start making a backup...

You have a lot to backup, your backup software sucks, or there is something buggy afoot.

Is this why the servers are currently offline?

He was talking about a character's OWN hearth, ya big numpty. :P

Read/Think/Use brain before posting and name-calling.

He's obviously not. Why would one pickup his own hearth and drag it all the way to brodgar at crawl speed, when its obviously easier to build a new hearth fire.

Ah this is so tiring. *adds to ignore list*

What happened to all those animals? Every fox and boar is level 1, that seems okay since you announced that they dont attack anymore.
But theres no single bear, and all the deers are 1 also. Ive sailed my complete route where i usually find dozens of bears, _all_ of them Lvl X since its almost at the map border, not finding one today. I doubt 100+ hearthlings already made their hearth there.

No, that was actually a secondary crash afterwards. It took me a long time to notice it, since it wasn't a "crash" in the strictest sense of the term (I've got a signal handler that informs me of crashes), but an infinite loop in trying to wilderness-spawn a new character. Which brings the connection to warrri's post. It seems that the census is going haywire some way or another, and suddenty the whole map is civilized. I don't really think we've got the about 10000 active characters that would be required for that with this size of the map according to my calculations, so it must be that my civilization area-influencing formula is acting up. I'll investigate, but I don't really know how long it will take me.
