cash shop is not a choice of developers, it is choice of producer and publishing company.
can you say what Gordon Van Dyke is clever enough? i don't know, not sure.
The idea is mine and was in the original pitch I made for the game. The game has been designed from the beginning with this premise very much in mind. Gordon is awesome. Clever in many ways, but mostly just awesome.
Money can obviously be used to get you ahead in any mmo. If I, for example, really wanted to buy a Haven character I could probably find a seller. That being said I can certainly understand if not all people like the concept for aesthetic reasons, but hey, Salem is free to play -- you don't have to put money down -- and Haven will never have a cash shop, so it's not like you're out of options.
I consider it an interesting experiment, quite simply.
Cash shop!!! Jorb how could you. I appreciate Loftar's and your creation "Haven and Hearth" quite a bit, in fact I would go as far as to say that is quite simply the best game in existence. I am not happy about the cash shop, that I thought would not be implemented, but honestly how are you guys to make money, right? Not that it matters to you, but I will be playing Salem and continue to play haven as well. Congratulations, your dreams are coming true! Your hard work finally being realised!!
With regard to this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3nxcjaTUbc - Your Interview about Salem, I am sad that they compared your game, nay your creation to Minecraft and Terraria, it is something much better and IMO cannot compare to the two to Salem or Haven.
Once again thanks for making my most wildest gamer nerd video game dreams come true!!!!!! Your biggest fanboy

Kaizokuroof.
P.S Feel free to let me into the Alpha test, I'll quit my job and play the shit out of your game

P.P.S Haven gives me a broner everytime I play it

P.P.P.S No homo in this post.
