Aww I hate discussing with a person on two different threads. If you don't mind, I'll continue here rather than on C&I.

The principle of sandbox games is your freedom of moves. You can basically interact with the game world with as few restrictions as possible.

Now with this definition, H&H just shifted from a toolbox game to a more classic MMO with a large economy system. While you could completely ignore the whole LP system and actually enjoy said sandbox (building your house, then getting a few crops running, forage and trade for tools, etc), it has now become mandatory to care about that new LP system and to actively look for LPs. If you don't do that, you're litteraly and it is almost impossible to simply play in the sandbox without dedicating time and ressources to curio-grinding.

So basically :
-People that used to bot are thinking to new ways to exploit their bot power (i'd use them either to exploit the random curios such as cat gold, or to take care of the now non-rewarding and boring tasks such as taking care of 500*500 crops personally).
-People that played hardcore but didn't bot are happy with the fact that they can play on equal foot with the players above, for now.
-People that weren't interested into grinding but into the economic system are screwed.

Okay.
.....

And now? I don't find nothing with exploration 1 and i can't hunt whitout a sling. Fine.
What...should i do òo?

Spawn into a broad-leaf forest and get 3 times as many free RPs from tree products (or even better, on the edge of many different terrain types). Random start now also means random starting LPs.

The way I see it, the ultimate strategy for optimizing LP gain is trade. So yeah, hermits will spend a longer time getting out of the wilderness survival part of the game, but I think that's kinda fitting.

Ah well, I'll let you folks duke it out. So far, I'm loving this system.

Really, with birch boat taking real string to make which = high explore to find www and yada yada. that doesnt leave much that ive seen, ladybug occasionally, week long cat gold..lol dandelion. long wishbone. this on top of resources so small and limited. Im trying so hard not to be bored off the game, but whew . this is just some trippendicular tediousness. I'm pretty much staring at the screen as there really is nothing to do. Build stuff for the hell of it for no lp? Just not really seeing or grasping anything to do. Unless of course click click carpal tunnel click for hours looking for some resource ANY resource over 30ish..lol Just seems all so directionless. I seem to be having great difficulty finding any direction to "play" despite the suggestions there is things to do. I guess im finally seeing that I kind of liked actually having a reason to work on things...lol The prospect of fishing for hours just isnt my thing I guess. First was shock, then recovery, then attempt to find hope...I seem to falling into a despair type "lost loved one" frame of mind over the last hour.
