i pretty much only play multiplayer games, and those with RL friends and family out of state. this is the hill i die on

it's just not that big a deal, where is your sense of adventure!? :D

not a big deal to forumers are already invested in the game, but newcomers obviously dont have that !!

But no-one is saying you can never play with your friends/family ever ...... if you had to go through the entire game without ever being able to meet up I could understand it better.

It's not just newcomers who are stamping their feet now though is it. :)

that's what it amounts to. if friends cannot start together without jumping through countless number of hoops, they'll just pop in a better game. haven does not exist in a vacuum

some sort of "push" attack might be an option as well, leaves an assault scent or something and you push a player one tile away from you, unless the direction you are pushing is blocked at which point they'd move a different way perhaps.

LadyV wrote:As for spawning together how about a group spawn option? Form up with friend in character creation and spawn together. It should be simple enough as a party system exists. Its just a matter of all involved being online together and then creating the mechanic to have them spawn in one location. Yes if all of a group cant be on it may have limitations but it is a reasonable compromise I think.

would be a step forward, but not a great direction
