It's not like I don't have at least some prior experience with this. ^^

You should totally do it for April Fools or something.

I wish lp from skulls was like 5%. It needs to be more worth it to rape and pillage.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

@Jorb & Loftar

Alright I've been thinking about the no spawning alts from your hearthfire. I think we need a fix if you do that. Claims will have to work a bit differently. If we make a minehole down that space of the minehole should be covered by our claim above. And as a natural progression we should then be able to expand our claim below as above by investing more LP. The same should apply to village claims.

If we do not have an easy way to secure our property then it sort of defeats the purpose of claims. In the past we could just make a new alt and use their claim to secure below. So with your change we need a solution. This is what i thought of.

Lp banks would definitely need to go if your claim covered all layers. Cuz they are bad enough now, underground ones would just cover land too and it would be mega troll. I do agree that you will need to be able to claim multiple layers though.

No pls, I like my 5mil LP bank

Being able to claim multiple layers is dumb, hell I think claims are pretty dumb as it is and just a preventive measure against griefers and decay.

Claims that auto cover multiple levels sounds like a bad idea. But I'm pretty sure what was meant was that basically when you build a minehole on your claim, or claim a minehole/cave. The claim would also cover a few tiles inside that new level. And then once you're inside you would be able to expand it to your next minehole etc. Which isn't as bad of an idea. But still presents a whole bunch of problems. Although not as many.

This does lead me to think of something like a "minor claim stake" A construction object you could place on/near the inside edges of your existing claim, and basically it gives you another default square to expand your claim from. So you could the shape of your claim a bit more diverse. And so you could expand your claim inside your minehole/cave. I would imagine that these minor stake claims could given some balance by not having an overly high soak value. So even though you can't destroy an enemy's main claim. If you can get to these poles you can hack away parts of it. Hopefully the parts that are claiming something you want. Like all that delicious ore.

Or claims being reworked in whatever way that balances being able to have more than one.

Or personal claims having "Village banner-esque" type expansion methods that can be either destroyed or claimed yourself somehow. Just spitballing.
