Bring back charterstones, and make it cost a hefty amount of authority whenever somebody spawns on one. It won't be possible to spawn in alt walls, but spawning in a couple of alts for specialized characters will be still doable, and people would do that by walking them manually anyway because those alts will remain mandatory for as long as the crafting skills remain uncapped. I mean, who would ever risk a high farming character knowing that death means that the fields are off-limits for a couple of months, lest they get ruined?
