Yes, I considered that solution as well, and it doesn't seem unreasonable. We'll see what we do once we get to claims. :)

No reason to even refund LP from a claim. If it's used for anything other than banking, it was spent and used with a purpose in mind--boxing in a player, protection of a home, etc. Since it was used, and hopefully enjoyed, for a period of time, then no tears should be given over the loss of it. Save the tears for when you lose near 90% of what you earned when you die to that bug or lag.

The other option would to be to make Revoke the Privilege! scale down logarithmically with the size of the claim (the bigger the claim, the cheaper per tile). It'd be more likely for villages to spring up for a month or whatever to wipe out a LP bank or blocking claim in an inconvenient location. I don't know how big village authority polls have gotten in w7, but the largest I've heard reported publicly was around 50M (someone posted screenshots from w3). At 250 auth per tile, that only wipes out a 200k LP claim, or about 140x140.

Given how easy it is to bump it in a direction that you didn't mean to and how you have no way to bump it back without just breaking your claim and starting over, there is reason to give people a way to deal with that via an immediate refund. Better claim management would also be an option.

I always liked the combination of claims, scents, and besieging in Haven. The core elements generally make raiding and thievery pretty balanced. It's refreshing especially with all these new survival games(DayZ, H1Z1, Rust, Etc.) that revolve around raiding offline players and KoSing. That said, there's a few things like LP banks that don't really give any beneficial gameplay elements and take away from a system that could otherwise be considered pretty realistic. The point of personal claims is to mark your property so any crimes against you can be avenged through scents. There really shouldn't be any uses outside of that especially banking LP.

I think any LP put into a claim should stay there. No getting LP back for declaiming.

Not being able to fix mistakes with the claim is a good point. I think there should be two values on a claim: Total LP and Used LP. If you reduce the size of your claim, the LP goes into the claim's pool of Total LP, but it can only be used to expand the claim.

Upon death, the claim should be able to be inherented just like one would inherent a title or deed.

I think there should be some feature that allows claims to decay other than the owner being offline for 30 days. Maybe if the owner is killed or their hearthfire destroyed, the claim becomes vulnerable.

As we talk about claims, I really hope that you dont loose hp for leaving scents in hafen. I know it was added for a reason, but I hope scents will work differently so they dont need the hp loss feature. It doesnt really do anything, but its just annoying.

It limits raiding to an extent. Which is a good thing considering that the loss for the victim is always much higher than the potential loss for the raider, at least with the current mechanics. It makes things more balanced.

It just makes raiding annoying, i doubt it's ever stopped people from raiding. If anything it made me a little more ruthless when it came to raiding peoples villages as i'd just break their cupboards instead of checking everything only taking things i wanted. It's really just annoying, it's not a real limiting factor when it comes to raiding.

Don't know... it definitely has been a limiting factor for me when raiding.
On multiple occasions I'd to stop midway simply because running low on HP.
Plus there is always a possibility of someone popping by when you are low on hp, which adds to it as well.

That said, I agree it's not something that has a significant effect on raiding, but it still balances things out a bit IMO.

I wanted to ask for some clarification on this (old i know). Are there no hearth secrets at all, so you couldn't party your friends to meet up without kinning them in person? Or you just can't spawn at someones hearthfire with a hearth secret. Just something that occurred to me because it'd actually be outright impossible to find eachother without meeting up in a corner of the world or something, or waiting for someone to make a world map.
