I understand where you are coming from, honestly, Jorb and Loftar don't communicate with us as much as other developers. But that is because they have no need to do it, it's just what you say, a side project as far as I know. I bet if you jump on the IRC, you will get tonnes more of information.

Either way, I don't think they have ever communicated using the forums a lot, so I doubt it will happen.

Loftar talks in IRC about Haven 2 every now and then and the most important news are being posted here by players.

Simply the fact that the server for HnH is still being supported is, to me, an indication that they still care enough about the game. Hell they sold their other game to focus on Hafen, right? As long as they support the current version, I don't care if they talk to us or not.

So in other words: quit being so demanding of things that you don't have a right to. Take every thoughtful action that is done for you with thanks.

They do not serve you any more than you serve them. In fact, that brings up an interesting point--do you actively "play test" haven and dig up the bugs and such? Do you actively inform them of when you're going to perform what may or may not be a game breaking bug? If you do so, then maybe you have the right to demand they communicate better with you. If you don't, if you're like the vast majority here just to play, then be glad these two (now) unemployed heathens bother making something that we all enjoy.

Then again, you're free to demand whatever you want to. But then Napoleon demanded a lot to his cardboard cutout army after he was exiled from France. This community, just like those cardboard cutouts, pretty much ignore demands. (Ok, they didn't have cardboard back then, and I don't think Napoleon continued attempting to play soldier after being exiled, but it sounds funny.)
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

There used to be tons of communication but I've felt that, overtime, the community has become more hostile and abusive towards them without any constructive back and forth conversation. In that respect it has become a huge waste of their time and resources to try to communicate with a community unless they're trying to drum up immediate interest.

It is true :(

RIP the glory days of World 3 when the devs talked to us all the time and multiple updates per month. ;(

This is like expecting a community of wild troglodytes to have a serious interpretation of how hard it is to make a game and please everyone. In that aspect, this community is hardly fit for interesting back and forth conversations. On the other hand, also, people that DO have the capabilities to do such thing are actually going out of their way to look for Jorb and Loftar on the IRC. It saves Jorb and Loftar time because they don't have to deal with people being stupid, and it offers the interested people a more personal look and conversation at what the game might become.

So instead of being sad that there's not much anymore, maybe be happy that it worked out the way it did? :D
