Mysia I'm not shitposting at the moment.
I don't know who you are, I don't care who you are, I know you're an idiot who needs to be taught a thing or two about combat in gaming.

This is a great point.

When you make the deciding factor in combat "skill" like the movement backers want, that "skill" is tied to the actual user, the player, and makes the character meaningless. This is entirely counterproductive in a game such as H&H. If you're a proponent of movement combat then why don't you just take it a step further and advocate removal of all combat stats.

Also, does it not seem out of place for the only area in the game where skill shows up at all is combat? None of the supporters of movement combat try to argue that farming should be skill based and not a grind. My carrots will be better than yours if I invest more time into them regardless of how skillessly I do so, why should my characters combat ability be any different?

IDEA HERE, though its probably not groundbreaking and been mentioned. Hitting someone while moving takes away a 60% base percentage of their defense bar. So it takes 2 hits to fully take the defense bar. That way if you have high UA, you don't get insta gibbed by a low UA guy.

Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

Again, what does that solve?

That combined with: Your def doesn't autoregen when you're moving. Perfect.

I'd rather see spears/halberds designed to penetrate armor and bodkins of course(pyramid shaped iron arrow head designed to puncture steel plate armor)

if they add blunt weapons I'd rather see them not have a lot of armor penetration, but have a special buff that does more damage to armor so it breaks armor quicker. ;)

I think spears/halbards were more used to break up mounted infantry so until/if ever Haven has horses that wouldn't make much sense. (Historically anyway)

actually chinese soldiers used halberds long before horses(just to throw the history thing out there) but the hook on the back of a halberd when driven straight down using the shaft as a lever basicly goes through armor like a hot knife through butter.

and cave men used spears

less incentive to catch a guy on a signpost or whatever, hitting at half weight is not as good as hitting at full weight so you'd be better off hitting him straight on with a full weight attack instead of a movement hit

but i see this leading to people actually trying to get hit moving vs. taking a shot head on
