The funny thing is... They made things unable to be built on normal paved surfaces, then removed LP gain from everything.
So now, even if you could spam making chairs, you get no LP out of it, so why bother locking it out of the terrain?

The dev's own intentions really sure contradicted his actions.

Well, thats strange. Somehow i got all the skills you are talking about ? Got loads of work still to go. Maybe the LP are little harder to get but just think abit and there are ways to get it fast and nicely until 10 000 or something like that. Keep makeing stuff, gather everything, use all skills you have. Its not that hard. Ofc. such things as finding a mine will take lot more time (for example i dont have one yet) but its doable.

Thank you, but this is not obviously true. I can think of many things that can potentially go wrong with it, but I'm not going to be so foolish as to actually speculate in what the real consequences are going to be. This world is running precisely in order to find them out.

I spoke without playing first, forgot to mention that part.
It looks awesome in the sense that it will greatly lessen the disparity between characters. People can now log in play for a few hours and be competitivly good compared to the ones that play the whole day.
However I disliked 1 thing. Why dont we get lp for each new kind of thing we build too instead of just crafting?

I think the changes were forced on the devs by the exploiting of game mechanics by a certain group of people (AD) and those are the people who are going to be the most unhappy with the new mechanics. The game has been freed from grinding LP because you can't anymore. That's a good thing.

One thing I'd like to see is a separate type of LP(s). Because I do miss getting rewarded for playing so I'd like EP (or whatever) that can only be spent on certain increases (not PvP or skill related) like for building a house, then I can raise Carpentry, if I cook I can raise Cooking, etc. Have them capped like a crafting skill. Once your skill level hits a certain point, lower level activities no longer raise EP (or whatever). That way I can play while studying curiosities and feel like I'm actually accomplishing something.

I don't think AD should be blamed for pointing out that our LP system was sucky. Not that we didn't know that.

I disagree that the old LP system was sucky. Just that sucky people used it for sucky purposes.

LP was an awesome reward for time spent when you were doing stuff like building a wall, your village, hunting with your mates, tilling your fields, baking a pie or paving your highway.

LP was a terrible reward for making the same thing 10,000 times and clear cutting someone's forest so you could run around and 1 shot someone because your life is so pathetic and that cute girl rejected you so you want to pass that feeling of failure to someone else via a bunch of pixels.

It was a really good system jorb, don't sell it short. It had flaws, but it had more awesome than bad.
