I used Charter Stones in the way I imagined they were intended.

When I first tried out charterstones (was somewhere around world 5) they pretty much sucked. I spawned in a rather desolace place that seemed abandoned. The area only held lots of remains of former newbies and otherwise clean-picked surroundings. I didn't really know what to expect when I used the charterstone spawn option but I more or less thought there would be people around to talk to. Instead I ended up in a wasteland. Then I tried out the next charterstone location and it was a walled in area where you couldn't even get out. Seemed like a raided place too but maybe it was just a place to deliberately troll new players.

I know charterstones aren't really a thing anymore (and don't seem to be in for a comeback) but if they get any reconsideration at all then new players should at least get an explanation what charterstones are about. And better yet: a proper warning that you will most likely end up in a fucked up place if you take that option.

It's probaby a cool feature if people use it to introduce new players to the game and having them join their community, like it would seem you did, but the feature didn't really work out so well in the past.

Example: Those things you whip around in the air really fast and throw at someone's legs to trip them up.

At least this way you can add factors to the battle that make it less dependent on who has the most water (or whatever method of regaining stamina you choose, if any) and other dumb bullshit "movement combat" tactics.

But also such an implementation may indeed lengthen the chase if the person being chased is attempting to immobilize someone while running away and not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing, but anyone could do it so I don't know.

I think slowing the character down when he is low (<50%?) on HHP regardless of stamina would shorten the chase, despite being a realistic but perhaps not very fun advantage to the winning side. Maybe compensate with a slight boost when drinking water IDK.

I wasn't condoning them or anything, just giving a name, Agreed they would be a bad idea, One of the few defenses nooblets have is running longer than it would be worth to catch them for their eighteen rabbit skins and string.

Disregarding what Nao said because I can't find whatever post he is talking about, let's think about this statement for a second. How many nooblets do you know of that are actually capable of outrunning any seasoned vet as it currently is? And then if they also have access to some decent quality water, which is likely.

It doesn't have to be a Bolas, it could be anything. I like the suggestion Painhertz gave for caltrops as well as I do happen to actually know what they are. In any case it doesn't really matter, the effect would be (or should be, in my opinion) is that there would be some sort of capability for any player to perform an immobilization technique. This could take on any form and based on the level of industry you have access to, these forms could range from very basic to more advanced. The more advanced increasing the length of time it lasts but should also provide some level of skill or challenge to actually making it successful.

To add, this should be something that would have a time variance between uses, I don't really know how that would be implemented depending on what type of weapon is used but the point would be that you'd have to use it strategically.

Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

Well, I haven't been asked really, but I occasionally do write pieces that I think would fit.
Background sounds should definitely come before music though and I doubt I'll play any part in that.
Just in case it hasn't been mentioned before, Knytt has always been an inspiration for me and Loftar.
