Have you guys considered an in-game voice chat system as in H1Z1? I'm afraid I don't know the technical term for it or how difficult or not it is to incorporate but it is such a better feature than having to stop play to type or having a separate skype call going on. Simply press a button on your keyboard and talk as normal.

I love it, I think it also encourages more pleasant interactions when you can actually talk to the other person as in a real meeting, typing is so lengthy and clumsy and also dangerous, lol.

Voice system (VOIP or Voice Over IP) aren't cheap to implement and require a good bit of bandwidth, even if bandwidth is cheaper than it was 10 years ago when these all became popular. Rented servers are about $15/month per 50 people.

If hafen is gonna get anywhere same users as haven, voice chat will be abused. Sinewaves or some very disturbing loud sounds, only to annoy people.

I'm not suggesting we pay to get that particular feature, Jorb has already said somewhere in one of these threads that they intend at some point to introduce a pay system, I'm just saying that maybe we could then have this feature when they do.

A lot of people don't like using skype for security reasons, I've had problems with it myself with hacking attempts. I know quite a few who have stopped using it or refuse to get it.

On top of that you also have the issue of calls not working properly, being dropped and constant interruptions from your other skype contacts.

And, you are not going to have random ppl you meet on your skype and may not want to add them once you speak to them .....
