Interesting. So again with the 200 combat skill guy attacking a 1000 combat skill guy, the weaker guy removes:

old system: (200 / 1000) / 2 = 0.1 (10%)
new system: sqrt((200 / 1000) / 2) = 0.31 (31%)

it sux, for example i have 400mc, wanna fight with guy with 200 mc, old system: (400/200)/2=100% ( full defense bar)
new system sqrt((400/200)/2) = 10% feel difference? ( between 1 sting, and 20 stings (if that player would be afk))

You just have to love all the Raeg coming with every update. First people are complaining there are no updates, then we get one that is awesome, making large groups stronger than single uber chars (pretty much what people always asked for) and it is still no good. Just deal with it people.

Interestingly enough none of our warriors has had any problems fighting animals with the new system. Probably you guys complaining are just lacking personal skill for combat.

I just fought a level 8 Boar and it took off a little more defense than with the old attack deltas, but it was much less than 50%.

Also, like I said, a Fox would have to have 140 UC with those calculations -- and I killed a level 4 Fox with 20 UC earlier (before update) and it certainly did not have 140 UC, so they would have to have buffed foxes stats greatly since then.

(meant to post this sooner but it didn't go through because there were new comments since I started replying)

Agreed, early reports that the party was over were exaggerated.
Come back two hours earlier.

Not so. Old system: (200 / 1000) / 2 (actually Adv * (200 / 1000) / 2, but let's say Adv = 1) = 10%, but new system is sqrt(200 / 1000) / 2 = 22%.

As stated by Jorb earlier, the actual attack value is not AW/BW/2, but simply AW/BW. The division by two happens at the very end of the chain, purely as a modifier on the defense drain.

It's sqrt(400/200)/2 which is 70% which I can vouched further by sparring. You never really tested did you?
