I agree. Some temporary benefits like Einherjarh stuff are nice to cushion the blow, but it should still be a major blow. Without real risk, there's no real excitement.

This isn't so much a death debuf, as it is a tradition/change fixer and tradition buff. Perma death with no cross-over is only a good idea for games where a life lasts at most 30 mins. There is simply too much effort put into characters in this game to have losing everything an option.

I think this is a very good step in the direction of moving the game from long lasting characters into a string of characters, where death is still a bad thing that for most parts should be avoided, but it's not something where your world comes crashing down because of it.

Absolutely and well put I might add. However, should those that have never died be penalised for it? What rewards do we get then for not being able to do the ancestory stuff then... nothing?

Your reward is that you're ahead of the people who have died by the virtue of not dying.

I do however believe that people who have never died (this includes me) should be able to worship starting stat characters. It is very game breaking that a new character should kill themselves once before starting to actually play, and it is unfair to existing characters that they should have to lose 25% of there stats at least in order to gain the ability that a new character has.

It's probably just an oversight.

I agree that it should be possible to worship starting stat chars right from the get go, but nobody has been "penalised". The game content is there to unlock if you want to.

We have actually, they unlocked it when it cost nothing but being at full trad, our cost is 25% of our LP.

They also died when losing cost them 100% of their stats. Don't be silly.
