Skype is easy to use, but I've always preferred TeamSpeak. We had a pretty large one at one point, but that was a long while ago.

Teamspeak is beautiful for communication but it's much more difficult to organize people in TS. In skype you add people to conf and you can kick them from conf, in ts to restrict some people you need to change the password of the channel accordingly, not to mention having to use passwords to get into the channels. People usually have Skype in startup and when they can't communicate by microphone/speaker, they can by text. Teamspeak is usually used for voice and sound, and most people won't go to ts if they can't listen or speak, etc.

Skype is so much more appropriate for how the game works.

I've been trying to lead every single person on /r/MMORPG(reddit) who was looking for a sandbox MMO towards Haven to join on the 21st. A lot of people showed a lot of interest. Will try to advertise it like mad on the last week.

Loved jorb's comment about just flat out experimenting a few pages back. We will never have an actually funded studio be allowed such freedom T_T Jorb/Loftar, you need to catch the interest of some bigass publisher, not go into the fields like with Salem and maybe someone will allow you to do what NGE's director did with anime, but with sandboxes. It's not that Haven is lowquality, the game is near-perfect for the niche that it serves, but I can't shake the feeling off that you're both insanely talented game design geniuses, who refuse to put your skills to use for the masses.

The style of the game is so off and most MMO players will dislike it, that I can guarantee, and if you advertize a game in it's alpha to something as big as a huge subreddit on the huge reddit, people who dislike it will be discouraged from coming back when the game actually has content.

That's not a problem. I told em that it's niche and the subreddit is rather small actualy (like 320x smaller than /r/gaming). It can never be a bad thing to atleast let more people know such a game exists. We know for fact that Haven pushes all the right buttons for some people, but is often overlooked, since 0 advetisement and offputting graphics. Need to atleast try and get people to try it. Haven is a love or hate game afterall. Even if we won't have much content on the 21st, the concept will be there and if people will fall for the concept, they will stick around.

I'd be more worried about these things than about bandwidth or technical issues, indeed. I'm sure those could be solved through configurable client policies, though, and I do think voicechat could be a useful feature for some, so I don't hate the idea. It's a comparatively complex thing and pretty far from the top of my priorities, however.

Kindof agree, the "realease" of the alpha is not the best moment to advertise this game.
You know H&H have a lots of turn off features, if you add to it the unpolishness ( sure this world dont exists) you'll never get anything but bad advertizing.
Would better advertise a few month later or further, in a state of the game when at least the players think the game is in an OK state.

This point will never exist. :)

Voice chat would be convenient, but I agree that improving game mechanics and features would be generally be more important.

So sorry if all those cries in the forum makes you feel bitter, I played w6 and 7 and enjoyed every minutes of it, why do you think we are here, thats not because we dont know every other games.
H&H was OK, H&H2 will be OK after a bit of tuning, its just the first state of H&H2 that will perhaps be a little rough.
