hnh has a lovely quirkiness to it.
salem just falls short.

There's only so much you can do with Java and 3D graphics. The only two other examples I can think of off the top of my head are Wurm and Runescape. As others have pointed out, the video was labeled pre-alpha. Expect the graphics to change before open beta begins.

I gotta agree with poster above me. I could go on a major rant here, but I think I'll refrain. Summary: $60 for 6-8 hours of gameplay?!!?!?!?!
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

This is an issue they've dealt with in Haven already so hopefully not something we need to go over again.

I've heard about it in passing regarding village claims, but not personal. is there a certain distance between claims that separates them?

The borders of personal claims cannot be within 5 tiles of each other.

I'm sorry, but I disagree with Burg and Jackard in their idea that gameplay is more important than graphics. They are equally important. I believe some of the new systems are very interesting, like the tables and the "purity" ratings.

I don't know if Jorb said it in the video, but I think that impurities in items should account for some global pollution of sorts--one that deteriorates areas that have large, unmanaged waste sites. Perhaps pollution would obstruct plant growth and the purity of the foods that are created with plant matter.

*critiques the pre-alpha graphics*
*is literally retarded*

right so the current salem graphics are going to have no semblance to those currently...

they haven't seem to have made any graphical progress in an entire year.

Most likely to the same extent that it's allowed in Haven. Begrudgingly but how do you stop it?

Anticipate that entire communities will run bots to do their farming for them to produce basic materials.

this is objectively wrong

1. compare the characters in the video to the ones posted at the start of this thread
2. see sabinati's post

change =/= progress

just because you change the sprite of something doesn't mean it looks better.
they appear to have changed some of the tiles, like pavement, but they do not look better. same goes with the toons.

i havent watched the vid, but is farming in salem exactly the same as one in HnH?
i thought loftar wanted to change the whole farming system(as in, "liquid" seeds and such), but i may be wrong.
