i thought loftar wanted to change the whole farming system(as in, "liquid" seeds and such), but i may be wrong.

It's definitely different. The plots were larger and the seed quantities gained and used were very wild. Jorb was able to gather upwards of 80 seeds from a single harvest and replanted ~50 with a single click. This, of course, means nothing without context but at the very least the numbers in the pre-alpha were very different to what we're used to.

:o then whats the basis of your anticipation that people would most likely bot farming on Salem too?

That it is a task which, when applied to bots, allows you can acquire a resource which has an infinite sink but limited supply. A single human player may farm their plots and reap the rewards or they may employ a dozen bots to each farm plots 24/7 and take up huge spans of land to enter an endless form of gluttony mode.

It could work if they made farmland the limiting variable rather than time investment. On the other hand that would make it virtually impossible for new players to join as old players would control all the arable land.

Hrm, that's actually an interesting idea. Perhaps make it something silly like only villages are permitted to establish farmland and they can only establish so much in relation to their size. Then it doesn't matter if you have a million bots running around. Obviously this isn't ideal or well thought out but just a thought.

this is objectively wrong

change =/= progress. just because you change the sprite of something doesn't mean it looks better. they appear to have changed some of the tiles, like pavement, but they do not look better. same goes with the toons.

Yes, have to admit they do look better.

oh, yes, because having toons as pale zombies is very representative of the colonial era.

in fact, I think they look worse, except for the clothing. at least the original toons looked healthy.

and are you retarded if you think the pavement tiles in the streaming video are the same as those in the pictures.
