Okay, I don't mean to bash the new LP system by saying this, but...staring at a cow made from a pinecone and a few sticks isn't doing something rather meaningless?

Anyway, here are my two cents on the new LP system: it really is quite a bit like socialism. Socialism is a pretty darn good ideal. It just never worked out in reality. The new LP system is slowly starving players much like many of the countries under socialist regimes.

I get why you didn't like the old LP system, and it is much like Capitalism - those who put in the time to work the system (not simply work, mind you) would be able to reap massive profits and has massive power over the lower class.

Nowhere in the world does a successful communist state exist. Nowhere in the world does a purely Capitalist state exist. (for all you on the internet, can you tell me what kind of thing social security is? spreading around wealth? hmm...) The current mechanics governing LP gain are still, clearly, flawed. I'm not saying I have a solution to it, I'm just saying you should really put some time into finding a place between W4 and W5's LP systems that H&H would better fit in to.

I have.

It can be tedious, if you can't rack up enough varieties of curios.

However, I reeeeeally think this system should be modified a bit.

I am curious as to why you don't get LP for the first time you create a curiosity and also no LP for first time creating any of the fishing stuff. was this intentional??

new system is great. exactly what this game needed, LP is determined now by smart play, not endurance play.

I said I was going to stop playing. Which I have.

Okay, that's a slight lie. Being the open minded individual I am, I did briefly start a new character to see if maybe I'd screwed up something awfully or missed something, but no, the system really is that horrendous. I played for about.. an hour, maybe. Two, tops. At that point there was literally nothing to do. I can either sit on my ass waiting for curiosities to burn or.. no, that's it actually. I suppose I could just start chopping down every tree on my island for shits and giggles.

Sitting around on the forums provides me with more entertainment than the game does right now.

Fathom that for a moment.

i agree, the forum is entertaining as hell with all the whining going on about how people can't grind and skip the early game entirely in a day.

It's not a matter of wanting to skip the doing, bitza. It's about having nothing to do. It's not like there is now some extra steps I have to go through, or some minor inconvenience to surpass. There is literally no game to play right now. All we can do is wait. I don't mean that in a figurative sense, I mean literally the only thing we can do is wait for time to pass.

You said the game now rewards smart play.

The game no longer rewards play.
