Server still shut down? I hope loftar didn't forget to restart it again.

Actually, it turns out that OVH does not sell to Sweden. :-/

Does someone know of a hosting provider we can actually use? I liked OVH a lot, since they had good stuff -- i7 Xeon, 12 GB RAM, 2 large hard drives, 1 GB/s and 10 TB/month for just £69/month. There's so much noise when I try to Google for server hosting that I can hardly make out the market at all.

Oooh, this is bad! :(

There's something faintly ridiculous about a server hosting company refusing to do business over the internet. At least selling the service inside the EU should be no particular trouble. Damn isolationist island-monkeys.

Actually, they're selling to a lot of other countries inside the EU (including even Finland!). I don't get it either. That the EU ph4ils 3p1cally is, of course, hardly surprising; but nevertheless, I thought free trade was the kind of thing EU at least claimed to be good for.

I've no clue, but they do. We even sent a mail and asked, and they confirmed it, so you need not doubt. :)

They restrict it because the laws are way different than the laws where the main company is located at. If that company supply's something and someone uses it to lets say break a law in the same Country the main company is at but there is no law against it in the country of where the person lives at, then the blaim would be placed on the company itself XD.

but ya it sucks when company's do that. =[

Maybe look at this: http://www.hetzner.de/de/hosting/produk ... erver/eq4/ (or the bigger ones in case you want more RAM)
5TB incl., after that they reduce to 10MBit (you can up the limit for monthly 9.8€/TB, but after 10TB total it's cheaper to split the server over multiple machines there and loadbalance).
