It's not like there is now some extra steps I have to go through, or some minor inconvenience to surpass. There is literally no game to play right now. All we can do is wait. I don't mean that in a figurative sense, I mean literally the only thing we can do is wait for time to pass.

You said the game now rewards smart play.

The game no longer rewards play.

The hardest thing I'm predicting is getting my entire island claimed. It's two screens in size. :(

there's plenty of things to do while you're waiting for your curios. i think the question is, what do you enjoy about this game, the journey or the destination?

the answer for many people here should be pretty obvious

meh I am just gonna get on every couple of hours and reset all of my curios. Not much else to do really that's at all fun for me lol.
Not sure why I even enjoy this game anymore

I like the new system, but i happen to work on weekends, and enjoy beeing a no-lifer during the week. Maybe ill keep loving it, or maybe it will develop a strong lp learning curb, atleast till i can get better curiosities.
My guess is, as long as the ammount, variety and lp giving abilities of the curiositys are big enough, the sistem will work.

Too bad I finished my jtag xbox today. Nope, won't get hooked to HnH again, even though it's tempting

@devs: Much needed update. One question remains - what's left to do in endgame? I mean... drama was
rather shallow in W4 - except of that lil clash between AD and WDA, it was outright boring. Will there be something
this time to encourage head bashing? Maybe killcounts? Better combat system? Godly honors? Entrance to Valhalla?
C'mon. Just make something like in Seiken Densetsu. 'twas a snes game w/o not-so-hard to draw gfx
...and it had a quite cool combat system.

@Shousha: Game brokenness lies in the eye of the beholder. For example, there used to be one big flaw in previous worlds
where you got 1HKO'd by nolife faggots just cause they had better bots than you did. I sure as hell won't be wasting 14+ hrs per day again
in order to manipulate some bits on a swedish basement homeserver. I'd rather... you know... have fun and stuff. Curiosities system encourages
that kind of play, and doesn't force you to grind 24.7 - if you like that sort of entertainment, go get a copy of WoW.

haterz, qq moar plox. I cba'd to stay longer. Shall check back tomorrow or in a week or so.

<3 y'all

I'm inclined to agree that the game is simply too slow now.

There's little reward to be had doing things while waiting for curiosities to burn. The game seems like your common myspace/facebook game where you casually come back every few hours to click a few things then go back to doing whatever until you somehow get enough LP to get the skills you want.

Also, the new system is not very newbie friendly, as there's alot of skills to take but very few will actually help you early on. Gods help you if you accidentally take the more useless ones early on.

This new system has SOME potential, but it just doesn't seem worth actually playing the game until you have a stockpile of LP to spend.

Shousha wrote:Now I'm curious - Has anybody who likes the new system actually played it for more than 10 hours?

I have. I played all day yesterday, ever since the servers came up, up until there were mini maps again.
It is harder, but not impossible I would say. I played for more than 10 hours and got all the basic skills plus more. I was 1k LP away from getting Yeomanry when I was killed by a bear. 3.5k LP gone just like that. I started a new character, played for an hour or so and then went to bed. Now when I woke up, I'm 1k away from Yeomanry and I've got 2 curiosities in the study panel. It's not that hard really.

I personally find the new system harder, but still fun. I would continue playing despite the fact I died like that. No complaints here.
