Build on a mountain, far away from people. Or find some exploit in the game mechanics. Potentially making a wall out of buildings for example. (Though this would only provide a temporary protection, depending on how easily buildings are destroyed.)
In other words, from what I can tell, the whole point of that is to discourage your average person from attempting to do anything that would leave summonable scents. Only those who are willing to risk having their character killed while they are offline should be leaving scents.

so its gonna be one big alt fest
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

No more so than Haven and Hearth is.
People are likely to have Murder-alts, Theft-alts, and the like, but the learning system in the game might make the effort involved to create them not worth it.
I haven't seen whether the learning via Black Bile occurs while offline as well or simply while the character is playing, but I would Imagine the latter. Given the time that would be necessary in that case, alts for that may be difficult to produce.

You're both just speculating off of nothing and making things up.

That we are speculating is a given, as it would be difficult to do much else at this point.
However, my speculations are based on the facts that have been presented thus-far, not off of nothing.

Of course its all speculation but it makes sense, if theres no way to protect yourself while offline you wont risk your main, itll just be alt wars clone wars

We've seen all of a dozen actions done in a clip meant to demonstrate basic combat and farming/cooking to us. You're making shit up.
We have no evidence that they'll make it suicidally retarded for criminals to commit criminal acts. A big part of the game is having the freedom to do these things. Haven is an excellent basis for the thought processes we can expect to see in Salem and nothing about Haven says that they're going to make it easy to summon anyone.
I'm not even sure where you're getting the idea that walls won't exist in any form?

That is what speculating is in essence, after all... making stuff up...
I do not believe that walls won't exist in any form.
At present, however, as I recall Jorb mentioning in the live stream, conventional walls, as they are seen in Haven and Hearth, are not in the game.

Why would you just make stuff up? That sounds like spam to me...

I am pretty sure Jorb and Loftar will think of a somewhat more sophisticated solution to protect oneself and ones belongings without having to create mountain walls.

Not particularly sophisticated but locking and or barricading doors and windows pleeease, to keep out the dangers of the dark

Oh, a barricaded house would work. Would require a ram or whatever else they would use.
