I have high hopes for the game experience in general, I just think it's odd to automatically assume that they'll be able to come up with a working solution to the crime/justice system when they still haven't been able to come up with something that works in Haven.

Will transforming even be in the game? does anyone really know for sure... When I was watching, it looked more like a admin tool then something for everyone, a lot like spawning items that he so plainly showed and teleportation.

In early interviews Jorb stated that players were capable of terraforming to at least some extent. In the particular example given, by digging a clay node he indented the ground and lowered its effective z-axis. It is possible this same feature will be available on dirt and other areas but that is in no way implied or confirmed.

Think i'll throw my 2 cents here aswell.

Like most of you, i can't wait to get my hands on salem.
However, i have some questions i couldn't find the answer, hope Jorb or Loftar can read this and give some insight.


About technology
Did you guys switch to a managed approach or a different language for the server. (H&H is pure C if i am not mistaken).
What about the client language ? will it be moddable ?

About World Map
Is the generator ready yet ? :)
Is the map size limited ? or procedurally generated as players explore and discover new chunks ?
Can we expect areas to have different climate (and all the gameplays ideas behind it, farming, biomes etc)

About Terraforming
Are there limits to the heightmap height ? (to prevent people from creating ass sized mountains or holes)
Are we required to terraform a plot before building stuff on it ? ;)

About Villages
Will you introduce a more refined permission system (Eve has a good one for Pos') with roles and stuff.
Will you introduce a more refined standing system (Eve again has a quite good one) (Friend/Allied village/Ennemy/Neutral)

About general gameplay
Pathfinding, i understand the server performance issue with that, but could you just try to implement this client side :)
Can we reincarnate a dead character with reduced stats values ?
Can we have cowsex please ? game will be played by 18+ anyways so you won't loose much customers from the ESRB rating or whatever it is called ;)
In order for new players to be able to join and have fun with others older players, what will be the Salem 'wipe' mechanics ? (World of warcraft have new item sets every X month/new expansions/level cap raised, Eve introduce new skills/ships/items)


Thats all i have in mind atm, im sorry for the basic english.
