I'm a new player and this is all so violently confusing, when i tried to download the game java disallows it claiming its a self signed program. and when i downloaded the apoc lite version it cant connect and i have no clue how to change it to connect to the new server. so if someone could give me a link or somewhat detailed instruction on how to actually play this game that would be amazing.

Welcome to HnH

There's no "new" server and there's only one atm (moltke.seatribe.se) for "haven" - there will be a new second server for the next incarnation of the game (codename "hafen") prolly on 21st of august

hints for Java and default client
http://www.havenandhearth.com/forum/vie ... 91#p503035

for custom clients (like Apoc) you might need to edit the run.bat

FAQ and Installation guide - click "show hiden"

custom client questions better in the custom clients thread in Wizards Tower subforum

Sigh. Why, after all, wouldn't the hard drive crash again the very same day I go away for a few days. :P

I am back now, and will be replacing it shortly.

Do you really think loftar would work without backups with all his harddiskbreak experiences ?!? ;)

No, I'm saying that one of the hard drives in the (redundant) RAID1 array on the server crashed, and that what was caused the lag (as the RAID tried to read from the failing hard drive until I could use my cellphone to take it out of the array).
