I see not being able to go anywhere with a cart as a benefit. This will lead to 'continents' having roads leading to ports, where carts drop off goods for boats to pick up. Boats pick them up and take them to a different port, where they can be picked up by other carts and carried to wherever the goods are headed. Think Transport Tycoon Deluxe.

Also sabinati is right. If you don't have the skills to cross a river, chances are whatever is on the other side would kill you anyway.

Edit: Also newbs don't need to find and build new mines, they need to find and join a town.

So, I doubt anyone has found rustroot yet. I was told that its in mountain areas. If so, the only mountain areas in this region are past the first wall of river. If the previous statement is true, theres only a few characters that can get it. Devs, can you please verify where that root comes from?

psh i found a root, i can confirm that not only do they exist but that anyone can find one within the rivers around the rob.

the more I look at it the I see how incredibly poor the rivers are done. it wouldn't be so bad if the world wasn't populated by people with parkinson's and lack the ability to swim 2 feet without drowning.
