World 6

A recent power outage at our service provider, combined with their UPS failing has caused us to lose a fair amount of world data, and several macro grids have been nuked. We have attempted to salvage the lost data, but our options are limited to restoring from old backups or trying to limp along with nuked macro grids. The old nuked grids have caused serious problems in the past, ranging from exploding cows to decaying houses scattering items over the non-existent void of NULL-space, and for this reason we have decided to do a world reset.

The world reset also allows us to switch to a new database format which makes regular and automatic backups of map and character data possible, which hopefully should banish the nuked-grids problem forever.

Charter stones will be removed.

New maps have been generated and the new world will be up in short order. Over and out.

At least it made me come back to the forums again. I've been avoiding them since the hard-drive crash. :)
