Planned downtime: Harddrive replacement (again)

Postby loftar » Mon Jun 18, 2012 5:21 am

The server is having harddrive troubles again; one of the drives just suddenly died. I'll need to take it down later on in order to have it replaced, but unfortunately I don't have time to do so right now (I saw it right on my way to bed).

Since the game data is redundantly stored, there should be no danger to the world or any characters. However, I'll be having the game server itself shut down in the meantime just to be on the safe side. It is possible, though not yet certain, that minimap data will be lost.

Could this be what was causing the lag on the server? (Random theory.)

A cloak of leaves, a moonbeam ray
Forget your woes and let your troubles lay
And when it's morning again, they'll wash away
Here it's safe, here it's warm
Here the daisies guard you from every harm
Here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true
Here is the place where I love you.”

Thanks for the update.

The minimaps not being there seemed to clear the lag up alot though, should just leave um off =s

Minimap data loss = area nukes like in W5?

What happens if Dis or some other large town gets nuked? Will you refund ?

No, the game data itself is quite safe. It's merely the minimaps that might be lost.

I don't normally make requests like this on any game, but I have to heartily agree.
