Question: when you say location matters, do you mean specific tile or river vs lake? I've been fishing all day and I haven't noticed any difference between what I catch in lakes and what I catch in rivers. That seems just plain wrong to me. Lakes should be filled with deadly carp.

Rivers, lake shallows, deep waters, &c., should make a difference. I tried to make the system so convoluted so that not even I'd be able to tell what would be caught where, though, so I may have to go over the details again. :)

JnL, on what does it depend to find earthworms? i have a friend who dug out 3 chests of soil and did not get a single worm...

There should be, quite simply, a 1 in 10 chance to get an earthworm while digging in forests. Note that you have to dig in forests, though. Grasslands don't cut it, at least not currently.
