Oh come on, crates can't seriously be that hard.
Cupboards only store twice a chest in exchange for being impossible to have outside, why can't we have huge crates that require tons of materials so towns don't have to have multiple hundreds of chests to store anything?

Hrm. Preliminary HP testing seems to tell a different story, at least via manual destruction.
From what I can see, it actually still has more HP (or at least as much as) a wicker basket. So theoretically, a cupboard should most certainly survive as long as a wicker basket on pavement. Due to the random nature of decay, it could take a while before the cupboard even lands a decay cycle.
I guess only testing it will show just how hard it gets hit by decay.

Repairing with boards is still a pain in the ass anyway.
And it's still pretty risky. A stiff breeze could knock these things out, unlike chests.

Nice features, but without a feature to rotate constructions it's still looking out of place.

As much as I love experiencing a temporary progeria whenever I sit down, and awkwardly wiggling my way out of in between the wall and chair as I try to position it along the wall, what the hell does this chair do?

the cupboard rotates depending on the way you are facing when you put it down.
