Yes. I mean, I don't particularly want to equate legitimate religion to liberal mid-night calculations, but in the sense of heresy as the punishable offense of bringing discord to the religious ideology (supposedly) harmonizing society, it is not inappropriately applied to the Soviet labeling of enemies of the people.
