 Jorb, let it be about how profoundly boring PvP will not be.

PvP is not boring to do, but it is boring to watch. Unless you've taken part in PvP I'm not sure how you can say it's boring

I have and it consists of chasing and fleeing. The 'not boring' part you are talking about is the high stake risk of perma-death. That is preserved even with a modification to how combat works.

This is me pleading to a higher power. I ain't got a suggestion, just the critique.

They will figure out how to make it more interesting, I'm sure.

I just want the next update to show something about the new combat system they implement.

They may be gods, but they aren't wizards. I dunno about you but I sure can't think of a better way to have PvP without breaking it.

We are currently in the process of reimplementing combat (which is also why it's taking time to produce and new images; don't expect results immediately), and we are indeed changing aspects of it. As part of that, we are keeping flight and pursuit in mind.

Whatever you do, don't take anything from Salem combat.

To be fair, I do think the theoretical foundations of Salem combat are underestimated, and before we sold it, I did have some changes that I wanted to make that I think would have made it a fair bit better.

That said, however, the plan is very much to make the combat system quite similar to what Haven already has. We do like it, and there is, for that matter, certainly no point in making the games more alike each other than they need to be. :)
