Game Development: Inventory work.

Postby jorb » Sun Nov 29, 2009 7:09 am

1) You only leave theft clues when you actually take something from a container. Merely looking leaves a trespassing clue.

2) Crime scents can be compared. Hold a scent, right click on another scent, and the game will tell you if they were left by the same perpetrator.

3) Stolen items can be tracked. Quite simply. The tracker points to the person/basket/container/house/mine/whatever that holds the item.

4) Stuff(tm) can't be placed on the black nil tiles indoors.

5) We're working on something nice. You'll be able to figure out what if you take a good look around.

That's about it.

So, what about the cupboards already in the black areas?

The Kraken will eat them.

Right. That now only happens when you pick up stuff from the ground, not when digging, crafting or whatever.

So...was that sarcastic, or should I be worried and start moving my items?

The cows have indeed been replaced with 'Aurochses'. Cows are, after all, tamed animals that do not exist in the wild. ;)

Nope. Cows are female bulls. Bulls are Aurochs, Auroch = bovine. And female bovine are naturally complacent animals, Bulls are defensive.. That's what the term Ornery bull comes from.

Nope.

The Hivemind wrote:The aurochs or urus (Bos primigenius) the ancestor of domestic cattle, was a type of huge wild cattle which inhabited Europe, Asia and North Africa, but is now extinct; it survived in Europe until 1627.

The aurochs was far larger than most modern domestic cattle with a shoulder height of 2 metres (6.6 ft) and weighing 1,000 kilograms (2,200 lb). Domestication occurred in several parts of the world at roughly the same time, about 8,000 years ago. It was regarded as a challenging quarry animal, contributing to its extinction.
