if you really wanted to keep the colors as-is, you could give the message box a black background

I'd be fine with that but I guess it would break from the current theme of old paper/wood. just some way to read chat without needing to highlight the text every 5 seconds only to see "lol guys found a q10 bear hide"

OH GOD MY EYES!! I CAN'T SEE!

Yarrr... colours need a bit of work. I second the black chat window background suggestion.

Yeah, black background or coloured anmes only would be the best option.

Or how about removing yellow completely. SHUN THE EVIL COLOUR.

That would be very nice, of course (that's how I wanted to do it from the beginning), but the client's text rendering code doesn't support any markup right now, so it's kind of impossible. I hope to remedy it, but as I've written elsewhere, Java's text rendering APIs aren't entirely easy to penetrate.

EDIT 2: I guess I might as well take this opportunity to announce another mini-feature that's actually been in the client a while now: you can adjust the volume of the sound effects by typing ":sfxvol VOLUME", where VOLUME is a number between 0 and 1. For instance, ":sfxvol 0.25" will set the volume to 25% of normal. It is properly saved between sessions.

That's it.

what about music?

Pacho's client already has a scrollbar for that. It's easier to use and non-confusing :P

I plan to fix that, but I want to integrate it with a couple of other music fixes I have planned.

Good work yet again on the party system loftar. Unfortunately this new light grey/bloueish that is a yellowish avatar is now impossible to read =P but thanks for getting rid of yellow. This one is *slightly* easier to read but not by much =P
