Does anyone know exactly how the barrels work? Will they drink from moms first barrels next, whichever is closest?

I had 200L of milk in what I thought was a safe distance (farther than the troughs, and the moms are right next to them) and now I have 0L of milk. Really sucks because I just culled the herd, now I've been starting to move milk straight into my storage area, but it's just easier to leave it where it is for a while first.

I'd like to know that as well :)

I'd also like to know which skill affects the q of the hide/meat/intestines/bones when slaughtering/skinning/butchering an animal. Is it survival? Does the q of the tool in question matter?

Yeah, higher survival and better axe will give you better ql stuff. Tip:ask for better axe, it is cheaper then raising surv.
