Ah yeah, that's what I figured.

Right now I'm checking incoming messages for creation messages on the RemoteUI and "remembering" where the appropriate widgets (Inventory, etc) were last placed (as long as its inside the screen), and override what the server tells it as a location. Its tedious to say the least.

Seeing as you brought it up, hows the work on the servers bandwith? I am praying that we wont be back to unplayable status the second the new world gets here.

Unfortunately, we haven't made much progress on that. It seems Jorb cannot get his own connection upgraded, and all the hosting services that we've found are quite expensive. I don't really know what to do about it yet. It is quite a bit frustrating.

About the resolutions. When I last mentioned it Pacho (I think) said it DOES download the graphics to the computer, though I've yet to find 'em. I'm also gonna hazard a guess that the world works via some sort of unique ID for every object and storing the locations of them. Assuming thats right, could some server space not be saved by saving a file containing that information to the HDD, and just updating it when something changes? I don't know much of anything about this stuff, so it's a guess made on common sense. I'm terrible with anything relating to multiplayer unless I get ages to memorise how to do specific things. So yeah, could be crap again. Probably is.

Well, that was cheap, but it shared the same flaw as all the other cheap providers in that they impose a limit on the traffic per month. In their case, the limit was 1 TB per month, which corresponds to only ~3 Mb/s.

But 4 TB/month is still only about 10 Mb/s, which is what we've got now.
