Game Development: Sniffing Glue

Postby jorb » Sat Mar 13, 2010 7:09 am

We've been developing tonight, and here's what's new.

You can now craft bone glue. Bone glue requires 10 pieces of bone material, and is made using a cauldron.

Also, we've adjusted the night to be more a shade of blue than pitch black.

Woodblocks can now be split into five branches by right-clicking on them.

We've also increase the soak value of walls. Palisades now soak 30, and brick walls soak 80.

Oh, and there's a battering ram (Build -> Tools), and you should now be able to destroy houses.

The battering ram can be operated by four people simultaneously, and needs to dry for three in-game days (one real day) before it can be used. The battering ram gives a base of 20 points of damage to which the collected (STR/10) of all characters operating the ram is added.

Enjoy. :)

Loftar edit: The battering rams have been changed so that they become damaged when moving, and require glue to be repaired. After repairs, they are again stationary until the glued has dried. Also, drying time and wall soak have been changed; see above.

That's pretty crazy. I'm cool with the house killing... I wonder what happens to people or things INSIDE the house, though.
Will we be able to actually sniff this glue?

Oh hey, block splitting!
Surprise.

Finnaly, a long awaited update has appeared, and what seems to be a very good update at that.

Battering rams sound awesome. Hopefully this will give people a way to break out of getting gate trapped.
