Slight Change: Palisades

Postby jorb » Thu Mar 25, 2010 8:54 pm

I'm doing a lot of manual maintenance removing grief walls. As a result, the initial cornerposts of palisades will have their costs increased to include some glue, some leather and a few ropes.

That's too bad. Sealing cornerposts didn't help enough?

Is this a permanent measure or will a more definitive fix be implemented later? More diverse material costs will discourage some griefers but it's also a bother to legit users (not a big one, thankfully), so I hope some other solution is in the works.

The materials required aren't per se hard to get, but the reasoning is that you'll at least have to spend some additional time and planning to grief. I save about 3-4 people a day now, and that's just way too many. This will probably not change any time soon. I have also considered a cooldown after first placement until you can build.

...Wouldn't asking Loftar to add the id of the character who built the griefing palisade in the palisade's data so that any *game master* (Loftar and Jorb) can easily ban/warn/message/kill the responsible griefers be a much better deterrent?

don't u think about making palisade more resistance to decay?
because right now people have to repair wall every day, and it's strange, that to destroy palisade u need to build battering ramp, but if it so strong - it could became broken by decay in few days =\

In case you hadn't noticed, banning/warning people isn't jorb/loftar's style. Blame the Austrians.
