lurking around on a virtual identity bashing real life mods for moderating here - i guess a real life 1 on 1 often would look bad for bashers...consider that sometimes...

from my point of view: there should always be a moderator online...do we need more mods?!?

It seems more related to the position the moderators are in. None of them actually actively said they were interested in moderating before they were given the position. The reason they were chosen seems to be more related to their position in power of different factions back in previous worlds, but with all the changes, that original setup is gone so now we just have those who are here who are trying to keep the peace over people they either have no relations with or base off previous judgment.

Nope, when I was made a mod I was basically a hermit IIRC. And I don't recall Trav ever being in top factions, unless you count Lakeview or whatever that world 1 town was called.

They did try going by faction power when adding people to the Inner Party forum, but that experiment proved to be a failure.

Eh, I'll take that. I think the first part of what I said still holds a lot of truth though.

They simply chose what they felt were productive posters. Of course, with the development on ice, I haven't been productive at all, but believe you me, I was the shit at C&I back in the day.

Personally, I don't give a rats ass about current factions, but I do hate when people make posts that are 95% trash talk against their adversaries. Which I guess could make Ainran feel singled out. On the flipside, there aren't any other posters that are highly active, so I do sometimes wonder if there would be anything left if I moderated away the less sportsmanslike posts.
