Yes but unless your post is nothing more than all the swear words you know you deserve a reason instead of YOUR IDEA SUX, which is all he ever says. As for the newbie guide he probably just wants more noobs to join so they can mock them, also, you actually said you liked one of my ideas that he dissed, so it couldn't be that bad. As for him being a troll I define a troll as a someone who post unconstructive messages just to piss people off. My idea was simple, let people check to see smoke plumes eminating from active hearth fires, so that you could find active players to trade with in you area. You could even extinguish the smoke if you didn't want to be found. And he was insulting and dismissive about it claiming that if you want to be found you should spam runestone messages. And thats not even mentioning the fact that he's a jackass.

I think what ThirdEmperor is looking for is a more mature response other than what was (or had been) posted before. And probably what was looked for is also somewhat being a role model. No offense intended and I do not doubt Jackard's contribution to the forum as well as information though. I'm just explaining how it may be perceived. If I am wrong (especially to my presumption to your statement ThirdEmperor), my apologies.

I will hold my own judgment though, until time has past.

Moderators are not here to be some kind of rolemodel. Their job is to prevent useless threads, merge similar threads, move threads. Stuff like that, no censorship (unless in very severe cases) and no role modeling. The guys chosen for the job are people who have been around for very long, read the forums thoroughly so they know what has been posted, what is in the wrong section etc. I think 5 moderators might be a little overkill though, but at least we can be sure their work gets done this way. Because especially forums like the c&i and the how do I? became a pile of crap lately.

Speaking of which, do feel free to suggest new forums to be added. I feel there is a lack of some useful categories, and that some of the existing forums could probably be split into several, but I cannot really put my finger on what would be necessary.

Five might be too much, my line of reasoning, however, was that that way there'd be less work per capita.

While we are on the topic of suggesting new forums, why not have an out of topic forum where you can talking of things not related to the game? I would also suggest a roleplaying forum but I don't think there are a lot of roleplayers in this alpha.

Uhm I gotta ask, is this what forum moderation is about? http://www.havenandhearth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=6398
Because as onionfighter states this doesn't really make sense to me. Also a thread in the A for O seems to be duplicated, that any side effect of our new moderators too?
