Yes, they seem to. I've had to repair two segments of my wall so far.

Hmm... do branch fences have gates? I have [Corner][blank][blank][corner] but I don't see any extra options...

It takes no time to just close it off with 2 branches and open it again with destroy.

Why would you close it? It won't stop anyone that wants to get in, and it's convenient for you. Then again, I'd probably build a gate on my fence just for the aesthetics of it if we had them, no matter how inconvenient it'd be to open them all the time.

if it doesn't stop anyone then why build a fence!

Fences were put in mostly for aesthetic reasons. If fences were hard to destroy they could potentially be used for door griefing a cabin or other build ins. IRL any idiot could climb them, so i think it would be fairly unreasonable to have them as serious obstacles anyway. It is worth noting also that, if you build them on claimed turf, a thief destroying them will leave a vandalism clue, and they do keep animals out.

Which is my point. A fresh newbie can't even take them down. So they are worth something. A mild form of defence.

Wow making brick gates are expensive you need 10 wrought iron(for corner posts) and 5 steel per gate I spent more money to make a wall than what it is now protecting lol
