So prior to industrial revolution people didn't disassemble buildings? I guess half the Colosseum just took itself apart and went to various churches and castles. And no, the 1349 earthquake didn't do all the work.

is the damage calculation for everything now sqrt(strength)? so is breaking down houses now impossible without a ram as well? or is this just for walls?

I never said you couldn't take a wall apart. I'm just arguing that your opinion that it's easier to take it down than going up is silly. IF that was the case then there wouldn't be any point to building walls in the first place.

Well, it's not exactly easy to do it when you're on the outside and people on the walls are peppering you with arrows. Since people can't be online all the time, this is abstracted by simply disallowing methodical deconstruction and forcing use of rams. But if you can do it without disruption and can start at the top, it's not that hard.

Sure. If you're doing it with out disruption, I can agree with that. Except if mortar is used, but that's just picking at nits.

I would like a system where we could delete stuff easily, but as jorb has pointed out, it needs to be properly implemented or we're going to see more village griefs than we already do see.

Mortar has virtually zero tensile strength, so driving wedges between bricks makes short work of it.

Anyway, the whole point is that if it's your own wall you can do it uninterrupted, and thus take it apart with a brand new character. Thus the 0 soak on own claim thing.

We've been developing tonight, and here's what's new:

DOILIES!
Make them with silk, wool, or linen. They improve the quality of the tableware they are used with by 0.01 * (Q of Doily).
You must have a needle equipped to make them! (ten silver bars or eight gold)

Also:

ROCKING CHAIRS!
So you can sit on your porch, knitting doilies! Uses:

OLD LADY-NESS!
A new skill (100k LP). Allows you to make Doilies, use rocking chairs. Now required for Carpentry, Will to Power, and Swimming.
Surprise.

I would love rocking chairs in my village. And porches. And a Banjo to pluck.
