A visitor gate helps prevent this since even if someone has a key if it only opens a visitor gate they still will get visitor walking through and be prevented from leaving any scents.
So, if you are truly certain it’s not your friend either stealing or wasting things then someone has a key to your place and you’ve either inadvertently given access to someone that should not have it or you cannot see their scents. You also need a better gate setup that allows you to enter and exit your palisade through an air lock with only a slave key that makes use of both normal and visitor gates. I doubt you’ve overlooked this but you should ensure your gates do indeed have locks on them by trying to open without a key or applying your gate master key to a new lock and using it on the gate again.
Otherwise, was the cabinet outside or in a cave? They can decay pretty quick if they aren’t in a house.
The cabinet was inside the house. And didn't know about visitor gate thing, however the airlocked gates I was planning to do only when I expanded my base and not now. Increase stats, get skills, resources, etc. All that. Everything's a mess anyway inside, as you can tell. And no, my friend hasn't done so, 100%.
Edit: Also I've checked my locks and they were still there. Changed them a while ago again.
