why is sparring a thing at the same time with people having real combat relations though?
So, what, the strat goes from spar>feign dodge to leave group>aggro>sideswipe? Literally changes nothing, while making the game slightly less intuitive. I mean, heck, people already use sideswipe to fuel over feign dodge sometimes.
Even if a non-rage character couldn't fuel though, they'd still be useful.
1) Mining meteorite;
2) Ferrying/denying boats;
3) Driving knarrs;
4) Picking speed buffs;
5) Body blocking;
6) Looting;
7) Horses?

If J&L want non-rage characters to be immortal, why would they let me identify which hermits I can get free developed skulls from if it doesn't even fix actual combat.
I'M PRETTY SURE the only real solution to this problem is to make people not immortal.
