I think most people still avoid PvP. Though I have not seen any dev posts about the topic.

Being raided is just part of the game. Once you have played for long enough you develop strategies which make being raided meaningless. Playing to mitigate raid losses is a totally different playstyle to newbie larping or villager life.

Bee skeps, herbalist tables, chests and cupboards full of both seeds and food and metal plus some misc stuff.
Tools, decent chickens and eggs.
