Map reset?

Postby johanz » Thu Aug 13, 2009 11:03 am

Will we keep our inventory or only stats? Or is that undecided?

Undecided, but I think we're leaning towards inventory reset. I wouldn't mind it if players carried over a character inventory or two, but I know for a fact that there are fleets of alt vaults out there stuffed to the brim with duped steel, silk and wrought -- which I don't like. There's also a fair amount of ranger gear made before we changed craft requirements to include silk. At the same time we're looking at introducing an item quality rating, and that pretty much means a complete item reset whether we like it or not.

It could be argued that it really doesn't matter if people bring stuff over, so we might decide to just let you go crazy.

Jury is still out. Sway me in your direction.

you could leave everything at "crap" quality

but you should probably just kill all of it

We could assign quality ratings to existing items but.... meh... you seem to agree that it's not an entirely satisfying solution.
