Adding to that, what most people don't realize (or have realized and not saying) is that the price of an easily "moddable" client is lag (of a different sort). Specifically, all calculations of the game are done on the server and not in the client. So for example: if I open my inventory window, my client has to send a message to the server and the server msgs back saying whats in the window. That's a pretty ridiculous way of doing things; afaik no other MMO does things like this.
